The Windows Live Winamp site is a large one. I have found many interesting facts and information about the software and its operation. I personally do not like the idea of Microsoft working with someone like Groove Media to put out such an old and outdated product. It seems to me that the software will be difficult to get up and running and that it will not be easy to figure out how to use it. This has caused me to wonder about how effective the application is for the average person.
I can attest to some of the free downloads available. The downloads are not just "free" but they offer you the option to listen to a song or download one from their servers. I am unsure of the legality of this arrangement, however. I would like to see some sort of consent form for any business that claims to be offering these downloads. I also question the usefulness of a software program that is solely designed to be used by other business owners. I think the free downloads are quite dangerous and I think that Microsoft needs to find a way to put out a good product and make it accessible to the public.
From my perspective, the application has no chance of success. With the popularity of such programs as Internet Radio, I am sure that people are looking for the free option. I think Microsoft should find a way to charge a small fee for the software so that it becomes more readily available to the public. It seems that the overall outlook for the software will not be good. It could possibly turn out to be a very costly product in the long run if Microsoft cannot come up with a viable business model.
